Good transportation alternative for conference attendees living in the vicinity of Placerville (from Wayne S.):
El Dorado Transit has a commuter service that leaves from Placerville and goes to downtown Sacramento. One of the downtown stops is two blocks from the Hyatt Regency Hotel. The service runs Monday through Friday and costs $5 for a one-way trip. The exact fee is required in cash. There are multiple departure time early in the morning and late in the afternoon.
Information is available online at eldoradotransit.com or at 530-642-5383 or 888-246-2877. The people there are very friendly and helpful with arranging a schedule.
I plan to use this service myself to get to Sacramento early Friday morning and to return on Monday afternoon. I can leave my vehicle in El Dorado Transit’s parking lot over the weekend at no cost. The lot is fenced and locked when the office is closed. A form for Temporary Overnight Parking must be filled out in advance. It can be dropped off or mailed.
Luggage must fit on the floor in front of your feet or on you lap, so a carry-on-sized bag should work. There is also a shelf above the seats on each side of the aisle. Luggage may be placed on any vacant seat after the stop at the El Dorado Hills Park & Ride.

This is the location of the office and the parking lot for the vans, buses, and vehicles left during the day or overnight. It is located a short distance west of the end of Missouri Flat Road at Pleasant Valley Road, the first turn on the right after the gas station.
