Digging for Clues
When you attend the SGGS meeting, on Tuesday, March 27, you  may very well return home with a bag-full of clues to some of your German family history mysteries!

What's going on on March 27?  Read on.
  • You may choose to arrive at 11 a.m. to attend the Study Group, giving you an opportunity to ask questions concerning  your family history problems, and, if needed, to get help with German-to-English translations (by means of scheduled 20-minute translation appointments)
  • Be sure to bring a brown-bag lunch, to be consumed before the 1 to 3 p.m. program – where you will have choices that could well reward you with new and exciting clues to add to your understanding of German family history research.
  • You will also have the chance to browse the Book Table before the 1 p.m. program begins
  • Starting at 1 p.m., you  will be invited to sit in on and  participate at one of three “discussion tables.” Which of these will you choose?
Table 1 topic: DNA  Discussion leader: Carol Dove
Table 2 topic: German Handwriting  Discussion leader: Michael Mayer-Kielmann
Table 3 topic: The New Meyers Gaz on the Web  Discussion leader: Ingeborg Carpenter
Hungry for clues? See you on Tuesday, March 27, at St. Marks United Methodist Church, at St. Marks Way and Lusk Drive – starting at 11 a.m.  for the Study Group, or shortly before 1 p.m. for the table-topic discussion groups
Remember! We''re the Sacramento German Genealogy Society. And we talk German Family History!
Special benefit for SGGS members only. Presenters at SGGS regular meetings grant SGGS permission to post their handouts and a video of their presentations for a 30 day period afterwards. These are only available to members who login to the members-only section of our website. This is a major benefit for SGGS members! Not a member? You can join SGGS online or by mail.
Michael Mayer-Kielmann will be providing 20 minute individual consultations during the Study Group meeting. A sign-up sheet is available at the start of the Study Group meeting. Arrive early to sign up since this is very popular.
Both meetings take place in MacMurdo Hall at St. Marks Methodist Church on Lusk Drive at St. Marks Way, east of the Country Club Plaza Shopping Center (2391 Saint Marks Way, Sacramento). MacMurdo Hall is on the basement level. An elevator is available. Parking is free. Park in either the church's lot or along the street.
